"Culture for Everyone" - A Norway Grants financed project on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Lifelong Learning

The Hands on History crew got the opportunity through Trondheim Vikinglag to join in a partnership project with the Lithuanian Folk Culture Centre and the Buskerud County Municipality. The Lithuanians contacted us to learn about Norwegian best practices in the field of intangible cultural heritage, lifelong learning and dissemination of cultural history. Our Lithuanian partner visited us in Norway where we hosted a seminar. The participants took part in various roundtable discussions, workshops, lectures, trainings and hikes. The themes of the lectures were the following: the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage; marketing and the representation of cultural history; local communities engagement in cultural activities; the employment of cultural landscape in historical narratives; the use of drama and theatre for the representation of the culture and the methodology of restoration of historical costumes.
