Norsk Folkemuseum:

Defending dreams with the U.N. SUSTAINABLE development goals.

An INTERACTIVE museum experience

Together with the Norsk Folkemuseum and experts from our vast network we designed, organized and enjoyed a very special interactive day at the museum. Visitors where welcomed into a type of multi-period dreamworld where by completing various historically inspired challenges, they contributed to a more sustainable world. The experience was accessible and enjoyable for all, but focused on children age 12 and down specifically.

We aimed to have everyone leaving with a feeling of efficacy to solve many of the world’s major challenges. We strongly believe in creating memories through history memories and reflections they can take with them further in life

In the end, visitors were officially knighted and adopted into the prestigious ranks of the sustainability knights!

We are inspired to inspire.

The U.N. Sustainable development goals gave this project, and other, a solid sense of direction. We believe it is important that our results have a very wide and positive outreach!

What went down

In various posts around the museum, the public meets mediators from both the museum and Hands on History who portray a number of historical characters from the Viking Age to the 20th century. Each character has a special function to fill, and are experts in their own niche. Some are good artisans, while others can tell the most amazing stories or are masters of fencing. What they all have in common is that they are passionate about bringing old knowledge into the future. This time the children get to do the opposite, take the challenges back to the past, to look optimistically at the future.

– For us at Hands on History, it has been incredibly exciting and rewarding to work closely with such a large and central cultural institution. It is also fantastic to be able to get started in an arena with so many different environments and opportunities as the Norsk Folkemuseum,
